The Gospel Of Jeroboam And The Cult Of Easy Christianity by Ron Kronz

In this book, Ron Kronz takes a detailed look at the rebellion of Jeroboam and how modern Christianity has fallen into the same trap. Mr. Kronz’s no-nonsense writing raises many points worth consideration.

He shows how Jeroboam portrayed himself as a protector and helper of the people. He claimed to have their best interests at heart. After all, it was so burdensome and unnecessary to travel all the way to Jerusalem to worship God. He would make it easier. He planned to set up an altar on each side of the country. People could then worship more conveniently.

He demonstrates that this is the tactic used by oppressive governments and institutions. They start with a big display of concern for those under their control. They claim they will protect them. They say they will make life easier. They only want to help, you understand. Yet behind the friendly appearance and calm voice is always an agenda to build their own kingdom in defiance of the Kingdom of God.

“All society is governed by covenants.” Ron Kronz

We are all in a covenant relationship with someone. God has established His covenant with its terms, conditions, blessings and curses. The Jeroboams of this world, whether in the church or the government, seek to develop their own covenants with their own terms and promises. These may sound good on the surface, but God’s covenants cannot be annulled or overturned. Everyone who comes against God will meet with defeat.

The Gospel of Jeroboam highlights that many Christians prefer to stay within their comfort zones. They may speak about God's rule and condemn the evils of abortion, transgenderism, and other anti-God activities while in the safety of the church or among friends. However, when it comes to actually confronting these evils, where it might require sacrifice, they are often nowhere to be found. Faith with no action is no faith at all.

I had not thought a lot about the story of Jeroboam before, but Ron Kronz brings out its importance in Scripture and its relevance to our situation today.

This is a thought-provoking, action-inspiring book. You can check it out for yourself.
