Are secular and Christian Pro-Life organizations essentially the same, sharing the same goals? One might think so; after all, we all want the murder of unborn children to stop.

Pastor Cali points out that even Christians are divided on the subject of abortion, with between 25% to over 70% supporting it. The percentage varies depending on which branch of Christianity is assessed. He notes that the Biblical position remains the minority position, even among Christians who oppose abortion.

The book opens by establishing the Biblical stance on the sovereignty of God and the understanding that He deserves perfect obedience from His creatures. This obedience encompasses the active roles of exercising dominion over the earth, subduing it, and populating it with Godly image bearers. Christians receive empowerment from the Holy Spirit to live righteously in their current circumstances and within the environment where God has placed them.

He then examines one of the foundational teachings of the secular Pro-Life establishment, namely that the abortive mother is a second victim. If we genuinely believe that an unborn child is fully human - as the Bible teaches - then everyone, including the mother, who willfully participates in his or her death is guilty of murder and should be treated accordingly. Pastor Cali acknowledges that some women are coerced into abortions by pimps, abusive husbands or boyfriends, or incestuous relatives. While these women in such horrible circumstances are indeed victims, they represent a minority of abortion cases. Most women have a choice, and they should not be permitted to hide behind those who are genuinely victims.

Pastor Cali examines other uncompromising teachings of the secular Pro-Life establishment, including their strategy for ending abortion through political action. In this short book, he exposes the fact that their foundations contradict a truly Biblical view. As Christians, we must be cautious to avoid deception, ensuring that our beliefs and actions align with the Word of God.

This is a thought-provoking book that Christians ought to read. While its examples come from American law, its principles are universal.
