Race For The Secret Code by Jeanette Windle

Thirteen-year-old Justin is known for dragging his twin sister, Jenny, on adventures with him. Together, they have come through some close scrapes. But things are different in this sixth and final book of the Parker Twin Series by Jeanette Windle.

Justin feels they are being followed while on a family outing on the Seattle waterfront. The same man keeps appearing no matter where they go. Even when they take the ferry to Deer Island, Justin sees the man watching his father. The man is especially interested when his father passes a zip drive to an Arab friend.

Never one to play it safe, Justin creeps up on the man and surprises him. After the man’s initial surprise, he reluctantly admits he is a government agent with the National Security Agency and confides that he is working on a matter of national security. They believe that top-secret plans are about to be stolen from Boeing, where Justin’s father works as a computer analyst consultant, and sold to Middle Eastern terrorists.

Justin feels important when asked to help, although he is uncomfortable with the idea that he can’t tell anyone, not even his parents. Still, this is a vital job involving national security. He could be instrumental in stopping military secrets from falling into enemy hands. But as he moves ahead to help the government agent, he finds himself involved in lies and deception. He justifies it as necessary to keep his family and the country safe.

Jeanette Windle has once again weaved an intriguing story full of adventure and suspense as Justin must risk his life to keep top-secret plans safe. If you are looking for good, clean adventure stories rich in detail and with a solid moral foundation, you will enjoy the six books of the Parker Twin Series. While the Race For The Secret Code takes place in the United States, other books in the series travel to exotic locations with which the author is familiar.
