Lost On A Page by David E. Sharp

This is an interesting story based on a unique idea. The characters in a novel come to consciousness while still in the novel. They begin to make their own choices, and the author thinks he is going mad as things he hasn’t written and can’t change begin appearing in his manuscript.

The beginning characters discover that by going to the Library, they can enter other books. Their first journey is to a P.I. crime novel where they try to convince the main character, Joe Slade, that although he began as a fictional character, he doesn’t have to stay that way. They work hard at getting him to join them in their quest to find a way to The World Where Books Are Written.

They journey through a variety of books, including Romance, Science Fiction and Zombies, collecting allies to help them in their goal of reaching The World Where Books Are Written, and a few of them want revenge on their authors for all the things they have been put through. However, super villains are also gaining consciousness and want to break out and rule The World Where Books Are Written.

The authors at first think each other crazy, but slowly begin to realize what is happening. They band together to stop their characters from reaching their world, but it is not as easy as it seems.

Although this was a fun book to read, I cannot wholeheartedly recommend it, as it contains a fair amount of potty language. I almost stopped reading about halfway through because of this, but I continued to see how this story would end. It is a series, but I will not venture any further into it. However, if this is not an issue for you, and you like a unique adventure story, you will probably enjoy it.
